Below is the letter to the Jonesboro Sun that  Bob Hester submitted along with the documentation.  The Sun printed the letter May 19, 2013.The Sun left out these two sentences - perhaps for space or because it is so unbelievable,  but it is documented truth.  "Statistics indicate, 'There are 83 federal welfare programs that make up this single largest budget item, more than we spend on national defense. In 2011, federal and state welfare spending averaged $61,194 per poor household per year.'"  Note: single largest budget item in this quote is referring to the welfare programs not the CDBG grants.

Jonesboro City Council gives $130,000 to Hispanic Center

Why is our city council helping Obama redistribute the wealth by using our taxpayer money - in particular giving $130,000 to assist Hispanic Community Services to acquire more land for expansion at its center at 311 W. Huntington Ave.?

According to statistics, the majority of Hispanics in Arkansas are here illegally, and the majority of them have never applied for citizenship.

Taxpayers are already furious over just learning about a multi-billion dollar fraud where illegal aliens are filing tax returns claiming credits for multiple dependents (even for those still living in Mexico and even for nieces and nephews) and collecting enormous cash refunds under earned income and refunds up to $1000 per child.   One person showed income of over 14,000 and collected a cash refund of over $10,300.  Illegal aliens were given this right to file tax returns using a tax number under Clinton's presidency.

Is the city council aware it is still a federal crime to encourage an alien to reside in the United States or aid or abet such action?  The punishment for such action includes fines and imprisonment up to five years.  So why in the world would our city council take taxpayer's money to encourage such residence of illegals in our city and make it a magnet for illegal aliens?  The Spanish-speaking population of Jonesboro is already the largest growing sector of the community.

Just because the Obama administration has used selective enforcement of the laws and executive orders to keep the illegal aliens in the country does not make it right for our local officials to emulate that behavior. These federal grants for Hispanics and illegal aliens are just part of Obama's plan to buy their votes and redistribute the wealth.

In fact the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) money is just a way for the federal government to redistribute wealth since the purpose for the grant is to improve living conditions for low-to-moderate income residents with borrowed money - we are $16 trillion in debt.   Statistics indicate, "There are 83 federal welfare programs that make up this single largest budget item, more than we spend on national defense. In 2011, federal and state welfare spending averaged $61,194 per poor household per year."

How much more of the taxpayer money does the federal government and city council want the taxpayers to give to low income residents?  And how long can we do this without our economy collapsing.  Responsibility has to start somewhere?  Why not with our city council?
