Texarkana has one International Baccalaureate magnet school - College Hill

and has magnet schools from kindergarten through high school.

Note the difference in number of high percentage of  poverty (number on free and reduced lunch) and the percentage of minority in some schools.  Now Note the makeup of the districts.

 

College Hill has 33% minorities  and Vera Kilpatrick has 65% minorities  (Has 87% poverty)

Edward D. Trice has 57%  poverty (on free and reduced lunch)  and and College Hill has 87%  poverty (on free and reduced lunch. )  (Trice has 42% minority)

Graduation and enrollment rate is not going up but down in last three years since it has been a magnet school (except for the one year (2005-2006)  where it has to be wrong unless they attracted a bunch of new students in 10th grade and immediately lost them the next year which is not likely.  So their themes are evidently not holding the student's interest.  See below.
